Funds have been disappearing from my cellphone number 083 279 9997 for the past few weeks. As it is my own personal cellphone and one that I do not use regularly (MTN can vouch this when they look at my itemised billing) - I have an office cellphone that I use all the time - I did not really notice the deductions until this week, when I wanted to use my cellphone. I get topped up with R100 airtime on the 12th of each month and should have had an accumulated almost three months airtime /- R300 now, as I have not been using my cellphone for a while for the reason explained above.
Imagine my surprise when I saw that I only had about R14-00 airtime left.
Upon calling MTN customer query I was informed that a company called OPERA TELECOM has been making daily deductions from my account since 15th March - with a total deduction of R259-00 as at yesterday - who is OPERA TELECOMM - what is your service - who gave you permission or subscribed to you to allow these deductions - I want an explanation and a FULL REFUND (R259-00) of the monies deducted. I have never subscribed to anything, not even music, etc.. I have no need for these type of services on my cellphone.
