Vodacom continues to debit account

I was a private Vodacom customer and subsequently had the remainder of my contract bought out by my company (who use MTN as their service provider). The remaining penalty amounts were paid by my company, the relevant documents sent through to them as proof, and my number was successfully ported to the MTN network on 14 January. Much to my surprise, I have discovered that Vodacom has continued to bill me on a monthly basis although I am no longer on their network, and when I contacted their cancellations department to query it, discovered that I am being billed FOR A NUMBER WHICH I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF. I have subsequently been shoved from pillar to post trying to sort this out and I have been subjected to no end of frustrating phone call and lack of response to mail communication. After painstakingly describing the problem to one person after the next, I have got a commitment from them that this will be sorted out on Monday, failing which I will be instituting legal action. I have in any event decided to take this to the media to raise awareness of this problem and protect other consumers from potentially falling victim to this.
