I recently relocated and wished to transfer my existing prepaid wire wire line to my new home /- 1 kilometer away. I went to the Telkom branch at Liberty Mall and was told by the consultant that in order to transfer the line she would have to convert it to a normal prepaid line and that my phone number would have to be changed. Further I was told to call back once the line was installed to convert back to a wire wire line.
I called back today and was told that Telkom no longer offers the prepaid wire wire and that I would have to pay a rental of R77 per month for the prepaid service.
Are Telkom call center agents paid to and was this just a gimmick to to get me to pay more???
Further more, the technician who responded said that was no need to change my number as I was still on the same system.
