CUSTOMERS GET PUNISHED FOR FAULTY PHONES!

I recently upgraded my contract with Vodacom on Sat 16/03, When I had a closer look at my new phone Sun 17/03, I realized that there was a fault with the phone as the back cover of the phone was overlapping around the edge of the phone & was not flush with the device. I called the franchise where we upgraded & was instructed to take it in. I took the phone in on Monday 18/03 & they refused to replace the phone for me, they insisted that I had to wait 7 days for Vodacom H/O to inspect the phone &then they were going to make a decision on whether or not they will replace it! I wasn't happy about how I had been treated at the Franchise & called the Customer Care line, where a Senior Consultant who initially was going to help resolve the problem eventually said that after they had spoken to the Upgrades Dept they couldn't help me. I tried to call the Upgrades Dept to speak to a manager there, however they refused to help me because I wasn't the acc holder, I gave them the acc holders details, but they never got back to either of us. Severely unimpressed with Vodacom & the fact that they don't replace a faulty phone site or whether they replace the faulty phone that they sold at all!!
