Obviously Faulty Phone will not be replaced

I upgraded two blackberry phones for me and my partner two months ago at vodacom in westgate shopping centre. both were in perfect working order when i left the store. after letting the battery die down as the shop assistant recommended before charging, i put the phone on charge for the first time this caused the screen to blow somewhere on the inside leaving the phone with debris all over inside the screen all around the area where the charger plugs into the phone. i returned the phone back on the third day. the shop assistant and manager would not issue me with a new phone but rather told me that they would have to send the phone away for evaluation.(the contract states that if the phone is faulty within the first 7 days they will replace it) the verdict they reached was that because they could not replicate the fault as well as the fact i had removed the plastic protective covers they will not replace it. they have since had the phone repaired for me which i am refusing to pick up as i believe that it is fair for me to request that i be issued with a new phone as the first was obviously faulty. hopefully vodacom will take me more seriously on hello peter as there service hotline
