I upgraded my previous contract to Vodacom's iTalk 240 on iPhone 5 release day in December 2012.
Vodacom cheerfully took my money and updated my contract, conveniently neglecting to inform me that I already had a MyGig 1 Month-to-month running on that number. Since the iTalk 240 contains a 500M data bundle I would, of course, no longer have needed the other package, which could be easily verified by merely looking at my account.
Phoning the 0821959 number was met with a rather dismissive attitude and absolutely no assistance.
The feeling I get, though, is that I was not informed as merely another way to fleece me as a Vodacom customer. I must admit that, at this point, I dearly wish I had gone with an alternate provider.
