BLACKBERRY PHONE NOT REPAIRABLE

I bought myself a blackberry last year after the one I upgraded to broke, the new phone cost me R5000 and lasted 7 months. It broke two weeks ago and went in for repairs and no one called me to let me know that my phone was not repairable and I had lost all my data, I was told to go collect my phone at Vodacom Hillcrest when I got there they told me that my phone was broken and they had a refurbished phone for me. I think that this is totally bad service and unfair of Vodacom and Blackberry. Most companies offer a year replacement on items this expensive. I don't know how many times that phone has been repaired already and it only comes with a 3 month guarantee so if it breaks after that I have to pay for it. I would be prepared to accept a refund to the value of 17 months as I only had the use of my phone for 7 months. It cost R5000 so the refund would be R3536 which I think is fair or I would be happy with a brand new phone. The staff at the Hillcrest Branch were very nice but I believe that this is a complaint that needs to be delt with at a higher level.
