I acquired a laptop early in the new year because I was going to be travelling round South Africa for the next 6 weeks and needed access to the internet. I signed a 2 year 3G contract with Cell C.
Since arriving home (Wellington) I am having endless problems with internet connectivity. I have contacted the Cell C helpline (0841555555) more than once. On Sat 2nd, the lady talked me through finding a 3G connection and it was wonderful to have internet but by that evening it was gone again. The next morning I phoned again and the lady told me to uninstall Cell C and then to look for my firewall. Because the firewall was on I would not be able to access Cell C!!! I need the firewall to protect my computer
I have called in my IT man more than once (at R280 an hour!) and he tells me the firewall story is nonsense. I had no problems in JHB, PMB or Durban while I was on holiday and the firewall was on all the time!
What do I need to do to either get Cell C to improve the signal in Wellington or cancel the 2year contract?
