I never subscribed to Kulaville

My prepaid airtime on a Cell C phone, I rarely used, ran out today after recharging three days ago. Then I found a message in my inbox, which I somehow missed when it came in, saying that Kulaville will deduct R7/day for a service I have NO knowledge of and DID NOT apply for. The day on which you sent the sms, I was on leave and the phone was switched off the entire day. I have replied 'STOP' to the allocated number, but I'm afraid to recharge as I obviously have no control over your debiting of my account.

How does this happen? Does someone from your firm pick and subscribe random cellphone numbers and then hope that they do not notice it, like in my case? And then deduct obscene amounts of money until something gets done? A R50 here, R100 there, I suppose all adds up to pay your salaries. In my mind this constitutes and I cannot help but feel like a helpless victim.

Is there any chance of being refunded in these cases. If so, please let me have contact details for those I need to apply to. Could you please confirm whether this service has been cancelled, or whether I should rather discard the sim card and submit a complaint to the authorities?

Thanks for your assistance
