I recently got a mesage that i am elligable for an upgrade. i have been a member on mtn for more that 10 years. I went to the kolonnade branch in pretoria for my upgrade. The lady thet assited me was very helpfull. I am on a top-up 750 contract and currently have over R2500 minutes available. i asked if i could migrate to a talk R500 because i dont use all my free minutes every month. I was told that because my contract only expires in june i would have to pay a penalty of R300. I was fine with this and willing to pay this even when it is mtn that insisted on an upgrade. They then informed me that after paying the exit penalty i will also loose the R2500 minutes that i already paid for. I phoned the call centre and spoke to andrew cruch and told him i was not happy with this and asked for a solution but he was very unhelpfull and told me the only advise he could give me was to phone more and use the internet mor often to use my accumilated minutes. I paid for the minutes i accumilated and now had to pay a penalty as well as loose all the minutes. I cancelled the upgrade and will wait till june and move my contract.
