To whom it may concern,
I've been a loyal customer of Vodacom for many years. I upgraded my phone 24 months ago and am due for an upgrade / cancellation shortly.
After reviewing the market, I decided to change service providers to a better contract. I phoned the call centre a while ago and was informed that I could cancel at the end of March, provided that I gave one months notice. I phoned today to cancel and was told that no, I could only upgrade then and if I wanted to cancel, I would have to wait until June, because I upgraded 2 months prior previously.
This is absolute rubbish. How can a service provider sell a "24 month contract" and then add a few months on top of that? I upgraded in March, 24 months ago and therefore should be entitled to a cancellation now.
One thing is for certain, I am certainly happy with my decision to move providers.
