I took out a contract at Cell C sandton City toward the end of 2012. At the time the sign in the shop advertised 15c / mb of data. When I took out the contract I discussed with Chad, the sales representative, getting a data bundle in addition to the 400mb of data that came with the package. WE decided that it was unnecessary as the cost of the data bundle was only marginally cheaper than the 15c/mb that Chad said I would be charged.
The contract has been running since then. I am now getting divorced and so where I am staying now I have no access to Wifi and so my bill for February is over R4, 000! When I enquired of Cell C why it was so high, Winston Ndlovu responded by email that I was paying R2 / mb of data. I went to Cell C Sandton City on 26 Feb 2013 to discuss the matter with Neren, they looked into it called me on 27Feb2013 to tell me I was being charged 99c / mb and that they could do nothing to assist me. Chad is no longer employed by Cell C Sandton City.
I feel that I was provided with false information when signing the contract which caused my extremely high bill and Cell C Sandton City should charge me the 15c/mb that they represented at the time of signature.
