Roughly 6 weeks ago visited the Cell C Cavendish Square store in response to the advert for the iPhone 5 16G.The salesman, Royston, told me that the store did not have stock of the phone but would be receiving a new shipment soon, and that there was a waiting list for these phones but I would definitely receive my phone within a month. On the basis that I was to wait a month or less I happily signed the contract.
Having not received my new phone 6 weeks later I decided to visit the store to enquire what had happened to my order. I was assured by the salesman, Royston, that they would be receiving stock the following Monday and that I would have my phone by Tuesday 19 February.
As I had still not received a call from him by Friday 22 February I telephoned the store, and was informed by the store manager, Nadia, that in the past month the store had received two shipments of iPhones, the first being 2 units and the second for 3 units. She informed me that this was not their fault but their suppliers, and nothing she could do about it!
How can a company run a national ad campaign on a product that they do not have, and are not able to obtain, stock of?
Epic Fail Cell C!
