I recently installed ADSL at home. A Telkom technician installed the line & modem but didn't calibrate it as per info provided by the call centre agent I spoke with when booking the installation. A call through to customer care yielded no results as we are still without a connection 6 days after the initial installation.
The feedback given is that the Telkom technicians cannot configure non-Telkom modems! I bought the Belkin moden from Incredible Connection. I will definitely be billed in full for a service I cannot use come the end of the month. I am appalled by the ineptitude displayed by Telkom's technicians and backroom support staff.
Guess they're keeping true to their status as a parastatal, where bad service is a byproduct.
