Vodacom
Charging for data usage on BlackBerry

On Thursday 7-2-13 I logged on to the vodacom website to check my billing as this was the first week of my upgrade. I have not made 1 call so my 120 minutes was still unused. My monthly payment for my current contract is R399 in bundle. Upon checking my current balance to my surprise my account was on R896.03, I was aware that I needed to pay a R250 that was the difference in the debit order since the upgrade to a different package but on enquiry I was told that it was due to data usage... I immediately requested a report and then the report billed me R532.57 on 5/2/13. Not understanding I requested further investigation as I am well aware that streaming will have additional charges and having a blackberry it tells you before hand if a site is not covered by your network package. I received a call from the Vodacom support team stating that on Tuesday 5/2/13 I was on YouTube for 3 hours and that is why I was billed for data usage. Since receiving getting the phone on the 24/01/13 I have never went on YouTube with my cellphone as I am aware that streaming charges. If I knew that upgrading with vodacom will cause hassle and fighting I would NEVER have agreed a new contract. NEVER AGAIN
