FAILURE TO HONOUR WARRANTY

My less than six months' old UNDER WARRANTY i-Phone which I nurture like a baby had not been charging for a while, then stopped completely. I took it to be fixed. 3 weeks later Vodacom came back with a fix it quote for R2, 900 even though it's under a 2 year warranty. I have to cough up or dump the phone for something which is not my fault. The reason they give for the phone not recharging? According to their testing machine the phone has been exposed to WATER / MOISTURE. This phone has NOT BEEN ANYWHERE NEAR WATER but living in the humid climate of Durban is naturally exposed to high humidity and moisture levels in the environment. If they tested every i-Phone being used in a humid area, they'd no doubt get the same reading so this is nonsense. Their written response is that possible causes of the phone not recharging which they list in the small print of a contract are: ABNORMAL PERSPIRATION/EXCESSIVE HUMIDITY/IMMERSION IN WATER/ CONDENSATION/ DRY TO A HUMID ENVIRONMENT. So presumably NO ONE SHOULD BUYING THIS PHONE IF THEY LIVE IN HUMID AREA I'm forced to pay and I'm disgusted with their arrogant attitude and refusal to honour the warranty. Why sell into humid areas then?
