I took my iPhone 5 into an MTN store today as there is a blue border around the edge of the screen. This is my 3rd iPhone and it is the fist time I am experiencing an issue with an Apple product. I was told that my iPhone only has a 12 month warranty and because I am in month 13 my warranty has lapsed and my phone is no longer covered. I assumed, as I had with my other contracts that the warranty is for a 24 month period. At no point at contract initiation was I made aware that the warranty on iPhone differs from the standard. Secondly, surely MTN can exercise good judgement and make a decision to honour the warranty even though the phone is just one month over. The phone is in otherwise immaculate condition having had it in a case since the date of purchase.
