The final straw came in the form of calling on their support line AGAIN, majority of the phone call was spent proving to KASHIES STUBBS that our router is not faulty. When finally it had been accepted that the router is no longer the source of the fault we were told that there's actually no problem. After finally getting him to acknowledge that the recurrently high pings in excess of 300ms made to the google public DNS (8.8.8.8) are not acceptable, the issue was shrugged off to be a case of "maxing out of our 1Mbps line". This is definitely not the case as the issue only occurred less than 1 week ago with no issues prior to that. Since we have not see out 1Mbps line but rather a lousy 512Kbps rubbish. We are currently sitting with the unresolved problem and are subsequently cancelling our account.
