Incompetence up my credit

Where do I start. I had a contract through Nashua mobile for a couple of years. I refused to renew it and eventually went on prepaid when contract expired. Never used the number so Nashua mobile and Vodacom scored for over a year. Finally went in a store and cancelled contract. I explicitly asked the employee whether anything else is required and if my account was definitely closed and she confirmed. To my surprise I received a lawyers call months later stating that I have been handed over and that I owe money as I had one more installment to pay which kept bouncing back cause I had stopped using the bank account used. Why the was I not informed after the first month! Why did the employee not inform me in the store! I contacted Nashua mobile demanding a refund for the banking fees I had to pay monthly (payment bouncing back) as well as correction to my credit record as this was due to the incompetence of your staff as well as lack of any correspondence informing me that I owed anything. The advice I received from the woman I spoke to was to just pay up as there is nothing that she can do to correct the problem. Checked my credit report & as expected my account reflects as open
