I have reported a network coverage problem since October 2013 in my area. Before it was excellent, but now only getting 2G whereas in the past I did get LTE (4G). I am currently doing a research project where I am depending on sustainable network coverage throughout the year, but MTN can't deliver that service to me. I have in total 7 MTN devices in my household experiencing the same issue. My recent reference number reporting this issue to MTN network coverage call centre is (Ref: 0060439). My request to MTN was simple, "please arrange a repeater with an booster to sort this out in my area". I am staying in Valhalla.
This had not been sorted after 13 working days, in other words more than three calendar weeks has passed. I am now forced to open a Telkom mobile account to receive LTE (4G) coverage.
I need to take this further with the authorities referring to the consumer protection Act. If a supplier can't deliver a service that a customer pay for, the contract should be cancelled at know extra cost.
MTN, I did my best to get this problem sorted with you, but there are just no business urgency from your side to support your customers.
Please advice to cancel my contract.
