THEY SHOULD BE CALLED CELL

I took a cell contract many years ago I think in 2007 or so. The call center agent told me its for 12 months and i have an oprion to renew for a further 12 months. And its true after 12 months it stopped deducting from my account. Months later i receive a call from spme rude cell c employee accusing me stopping the debit order before the contract expires and further told me that Im in arrears and need to pay R450 and that after that I will not be owing them anything. The lady that helped me even send me a settlement confirmation which i misplaced as it was many moons ago. Then this year I receive an sms saying I owe them money and the account will be handed over for collection. This according to me is. If Cell C is going under they should seek more clients rather than making money this way. Please help me with this as firstly Im not even using Cell C and never will and want them off my back.
