Cell C
Handed me over for collection on contract paid up

I once had a 24 months cell c contract (cannot remember the year) which was concluded telephonically and the cell was delivered. After the expiry date the debit order was never stopped of which I went to the nearest Witbank High Veld Mall Cell C outlet to complain. It was there that I was told that the debit will not stop until a one month notice prior to contract expiry date is issued. Even though I argued that, The Cell C outlet person gave me the form to fill and he then faxed it to Cell C. The debit order was then stopped. If I recall, it is more that 4 years now since I had terminated the contract. To my surprise, even though I had a query that Cell C owes me money deducted after the 24 month expiry date, I did not pursue a query or a refund. We had parted ways and I never heard from Cell C since. On the 5th June 2013, I received a sms on my Vodacom number indicating that my Cell C account 01163403 is handed over for collection for the sum of R296.84. My worry is that if Cell C had an outstanding amount, I would had expected them to have contacted me (since I now realise that they have my Vodacom number) before issuing a collection instruction. They must withdraw the charge.
