On 02/01/2013 I logged a complaint against Vodacom for refusing to repair my wife's phone under warranty. I received a very snotty e-mail from them telling me that I am wrong and that my wife's phone could not receive signal due to "water damage". They quoted nearly R 2500-00 to fix it. Part of the problem was that the option to select the service provider was unavailable on the phone. I spoke to a gentleman at an iStore and he suggested that I load a new version of the iOS on the phone.
I did that and now the phone is working perfectly, without having to pay a single cent.
My question is: Did Vodacom willingly try and a client and to them, or are there "technicians" incompetent? How many other clients also paid for repairs that was not needed.
