I am a Post graduate student and I receive a bursary amounting to R8000/month every year.
Early in December 2013 I visited Hatfield MTN to apply for a Samsung S3 mini contract. I was assisted by Jacque. He informed me that he would let me know the results of the vetting process in about 2-3 days. More than a month later I had received no communication from MTN.
Today I went to Hatfield MTN to enquire about the status of my application. the two ladies there (sorry I did not catch your names) was very helpful and explained to me that my application was declined due to the fact that I am a student and do not have a job.
This brings me to my major complaint. I provided documents stating that I receive a guaranteed bursary for the next 2 years. But apparently to MTN having an income is not possible without being employed.
Great job MTN in marginalizing post-graduate students, the future academic workforce of this country.
