I went to the Northgate branch close on two weeks ago with all documentation to apply for a a student loan and was turned away and told to apply online as it is much faster and in branch applications are no longer offered.
I did so and received an email on the 25th stating that my surety form had been received and I will receive a further update on processing of my application. I have still heard nothing! My father, a private banking client, contacted you for assistance on 28th January and although I spoke to a friendly individual, Amanda Ras, she says they are unable to assist because I did my application online and not in branch (as I had wanted to do but was turned away)!
A large number of UNISA students need to pay their minimum registration fees by Friday at the absolute latest. If this is not done, we will be unable to register this year and will have to wait until 2014. Standard bank's inability to deliver timeous service shows a reckless disregard not only for their clients' wellbeing but for their own future - one would think that educated youth, particularly postgraduate students and those with cum laude qualifications, would be valued as future clients? Obviously not.
