I cancelled my Telkom line on 17/04/2013. They continued to bill me even though my line was indeed cancelled as requested. I was not on any contract. The outstanding bill should have been around the R500 mark, potentially R1000 (Depending on cancellation policy). I then started receiving bills for over R2200 due the line fee not being cancelled as requested. Telkom have since handed the account over to a debtor.
This has now affected my personal ITC score to a point whereby I CANNOT even get a tiny loan (nevermind a bond for a house which I attempted to purchase).
Telkom have shown that they do not care about their individual customers. I have been a client for over 3 years. I have always paid my rental fee.
For more clarity: This is my issue. I CANCELLED my line. Telkom continued to bill me. I complained. Telkom blindly handed over this "due" account to a debtor. My credit score is now affected. All this could have been avoided with decent customer communication.
Current status: The debtor is awaiting feedback from Telkom regarding this due account because I sent the debtor proof of my cancellation. Debtor has been waiting for well over a month now for feedbacl
