Exlusions to cell contract not mentioned

In Nov 2011 I was informed that the contract package I had will no longer be existing & I had to choose a new one. I settled on Straight 100 Top up. This allowed me sufficient airtime & data allocations & peace of mind knowing my cell acc was for a set amount.

HOWEVER: Early Dec last year (2013) I was driving home from Cape Town late @ night on a lonely rural road when I had a flat tire. I tried to change it but had difficulty loosening the wheel nuts and as it was late, dark and I was a woman alone along a deserted stretch of road, I decided it would be safer to call my roadside assistance centre. When I dialed the 0860 number I was informed by automated message that I had to load airtime. I then checked my balance and had still over 5 hrs' wort of airtime left. I tried the number again and got the same response. I then had to phone a friend & ask her to call the roadside assistance no for me.

I queried this with Autopage on 6 Dec &I was told that it was network regulations that 0860 number are excluded from the package, but I was not informed about this when I was sold the contract (I wouldn't have chosen it& when I pointed that out I got the cold shoulder.
