My contract with Vodacom was upgraded on 11.11.2012. The trackball on the phone was faulty and it was handed in for repairs on 31.12.2012. On 08.01.2013 a REFURBISHED phone was issued as an "Exchange Unit" while my phone is still covered by a manufacturers warranty?? This refurbished unit only had battery life of 5 to 6 hours without any applications running - it was returned again on 28.01.2013. The Vodacom consultant reported on 03.02.2013 that the phone had water damage and that an insurance claim must be submitted - ridiculous request after Vodacom re-issued a refurbished unit. The water damage was probably why the unit was refurnished in the first place???
This is totally unacceptable service from Vodacom. I upgraded and pay monthly to have a new handset not to use somebody elses refurbished phone.
