I tried porting my number from Vodacom to MTN. Three times I tried, without success. When I tried to enquire, the staff was just callous and could not care a hoot. To top it, I was told that I had not done the porting correctly, but it was one of their staff who wrote down the porting method. So I asked what are they going to do. And yes, nothing, I would just have to do it again! Then I told them that I could not understand for the life of me why they would not go out of their way to get a new customer. Still not bothered. Then it hit me. Why must I try so hard to go to a disservice provider who clearly shows that customer service is just not important. I made a decision that I would not bother anymore. And that still did not move them. Guess what, went into Cell C. In a few minutes I was done, got an sms immediately, and by the evening (from the afternoon), my number was ported. Now, how hard was that?
