I have just tried to renew my cellphone contract - which is 9 mths overdue! Despite producing my original ID I was asked 2 sets of 6 ridiculous security questions - this despite the fact that I have been with MTN for about 12 years! For the first set I apparently got 53% correct and the second set 78%. Because I failed to get 80% correct there is now a 72 hour clearance period! If this is what I have to go through to renew my contract perhaps I should be looking at changing to another service provider where I will not be required to jump through silly hoops. I am not even asked these questions when I open an account with my bank or when I apply for a passport. Just who do MTN think they are! This bureaucracy should not dictate their customer service.
