No assistance from Vodacom

We have been customers of vodacom for over 13 years already.
Recently we discovered someone else ran up a bill of over R7000 on one of my unused contracts (I still have the sim card with me but haven't used the number for a few months already).
When we called the number a man answered and stated the number belonged to a Mr Brian. After that I promptly blocked the number and lodged a querie with vodacom call center.
Today, 2 weeks later, we called back to follow up where we were told we must pay the bill someone else ran up, or they will block all our contracts, and vodacom will do nothing to trace who was using my number and who issued them a copy of the sim to use, they told us we must solve the matter and prove no one used our sim card. They then refused to send me the itemised billing for the number.

Please can somebody assist and tell me what can be done, I cannot pay a bill someone else created.
