My Telkom line and internet connection died early November. I tried in vain to report the fault, having to hold on for in excess on 20 minutes at a time. The recording tells you that the call is free if you call from your Telkom line, but if your Telkom line is faulty, you cannot phone from it, can you? I eventually made use of the sms fault reporting service, only to receive an sms back that the line had already been reported as faulty, so I waited for a reference number, which was never received. On 27 November I managed to get through to the fault reporting line and received a reference number 199CRK271113. I had heard nothing and followed up a week later - having had to hold on again and listen to the worst quality recording of music (management should phone and listen what they subject customers to) only to be told that the lines are being upgraded and that they have no idea how long it will take. I escalated the matter on the website, twice, still no response. On 9/10 December I phoned again and after holding on for more than 20 minutes spoke to a friendly consultant who was very surprised that I had not yet been contacted by a technician. She escalated again. STILL NOTHING!
