I have signed up to use Afrihost as my primary ISP on my Mtn contract. I was sent through an email with simple instructions on how to configure my iPhone to use the Afrihost, Apn. I followed it to the letter. I was only advised that the Cellular Data Network APN setting should be set to Afrihost. I occasionally logged onto their website to confirm that I am still using their services. This was affirmative. I do not use my mobile data often as I use the wireless connection at home and work.
On the 10/12, I streamed the Mandela memorial service on my laptop using my cellphone. This is one of the rare occasions where I did not use the office internet as Youtube is blocked. I have now been informed by Autopage that I have a huge data bill pending. Upon investigation with Thandiwe at Afrihost, we had discovered, that there were additional settings that had to be changed hence me being routed through Autopage.. The hotspot settings on my iPhone were to be changed. I was not aware of this, and this was not communicated to me when I signed up. I still have the original email with the instructions, and there was NOTHING related to hotspot settings. I feel that this is incredibly unfair!
