I have a Telkon ISP account that I use to play online games with. I noticed that the latency is around 300% higher than it should be, so running on about 650ms. I pay in the region of R650 a month for this privilege. To test whether it's the line or not I subscribe to the [URL Removed] 3gb test account, for free by the way. Immediately my latency goes down to 180ms.

I phone Telkom to find out what the story is. After a 15 minute wait I finally reach a consultant who is more than happy to transfer me to another consultant who will give me a test account to see if the problem is with my account or line. Well now I'm confused so I ask for an explanation. How will a test account be any better than my paid account? No worries, says Brian, the consultant will explain it to me. Great, I say The catch? I'll have to wait in another queue for heaven alone knows how long.

The result? Tomorrow I'll cancel my Telkom account and convert my test [URL Removed] account to an actual subscription. I wonder if I can rent my line through axxess as well?
