Device does not work at all and never has

I purchased a 3-G card as a birthday gift for my dad for 13 November 2013. I received the device on 19/11 and was called on 20/11 to activate the account. After 24hrs i tried to connect using the 3-G card, but it did not work. I called and was told that all was connected on Mweb's side and that I should give it some more time. I called again on 24/11 as the card was still not working. I tried it in 3 different locations as well as 3 different pc's and it was still not working. I was then told I needed to go to Canal Walk to do a sim swap - which I did at my total inconvenience on Friday, 29/11. I was told that it would work by 1pm the next day. I checked at 5pm the next day and it still did not work. I called once again on Sunday and since then I've been sent from pillar to post and still nobody has resolved the fact that the device DOES NOT WORK despite their techinical specialiasts troubleshooting until they are blue in the face. At the moment I am on hold with them trying to get some competent person to arrange to collect this broken thing which has never worked. Of course now i have to wait for a callback from a specialist.
