I have a problem with my ADSL modem and Telkom support gave me a reference number 830CTK271113 to go the nearest Telkom Direct Branch to replace it. This is where the problem starts. I looked on Telkom's website [URL Removed] where the nearest branch is (my hometown is Modemolle -- Telkom Direct branch was closed here in 2011) and according to the website there is one in Bela Bela. No problem, because Bela Bela is only a 15 minutes drive, unfortunately I discovered that the branch there closed about 6 months ago. Thus false and misleading information on the website (should be updated immediately after the closure of the shop). Now I am stuck, where to go? Other possibilities are Potgietersrus (call the shop and you get repeatedly the message "not available now, leave a message" -- never to be called back), Pretoria and Rustenburg. All these places about 2 to 4 hours drive from Modimolle and back. A pretty expensive way to replace a faulty device, which is in any case the responsibility off the supplier. I am a pensioner and does have the money to waste because Telkom close his Telkom Direct shops here in Limpopo and does not make provision for a proper service.
