Cancelled mtn contract but still being billed

I cancelled my MTN contract in aug 2013. I was advised that my last billing date would be 1 oct 2013. I was billed again on the 1 november2013. After many failed calls, emails and visits to mtn stores, the money deducted on the 1 of november 2013 has not been refunded and I have not had any reassurances that the stop order has been removed from my account. I no longer know what to do.

I am however, very relieved that I no longer am an mtn customer.
