Late last year my mother who is a PENSIONER recieved a phone call from Vodacom saying she won a contract and 10 000 funeral plan for being a valuable customer for years. she asked if she qualifies since she is a PENSIONER? and the consultant said yes since you are with vodacom for so many years. so because she doesnt know much about how the telesales industry works, she gave them her banking details, because that is where the money would be transerfed to if she passes away, and also they told her they will be sending her two samsung phone for which she has won. she never received the phones and they started debiting from her account. so last week she went vodacom cresta to inquire as to why they are debiting from her account, the gentleman who helped said they will call her back, but still no avail. I am concerned if such a huge company is misleading people who are not working, pensioners like this, how many people are being mislead and because they dont know who to tell, they just keep quiet. If i dont get a respond as soon as possible im taking this matter up with the FSB and the ombudsman, because people who are misleading should be debard from this industry.
