Money debited was not contractually agreed

I took a vodacom contract on line in August & during the process i was not aware that the contract i took is an open line & I dint know what that means. I feel cheated as now i have to pay more as now the contract is 5X more than i am supposed to pay. I now being blamed for not getting note of the sms which i don't receive on the device. when the i pad arrived to me i did asked their department to activate my line and i was only been made aware this morning that only the internet line was activated. My query is that money deducted is not what i agreed on & that affected my finances as they took money that i am supposed to pay for other items and they are making it difficult for me and i can not afford those big figures they take in my account. our initial agreement is that they will deduct R1736.49 into my account every month but this month they deducted R3550.16 & they are saying next month they will deduct R2820 into my account & that i cant afford. besides them explaining everything if one of their consultant did their work well i could have picked up all notification sent to me by sms. I didn't know & never had a reason to query until now as they debited what i agreed on.
