I HAVE BEEN WITH MTN SINCE 1994 - OVER THE YEARS I HAVE SPENT A FORTUNE ON CELL BILLS AND RECOMMENDED TO MY FOREIGN CLIENTS TO USE MTN - THROUGH CELLUCITY - WHILST WORKING IN SA. OVER THE YEARS I HAVE RECEIVED NO REWARDS FOR MY YEARS OF LOYALITY. I WAS ON MY 2ND 2GB 24 MONTH HOME CONTRACT & HAD NEVER DOWNLOADED ANYTHING DURING THE FIRST 2 YEARS - MY AVERAGE BILL WAS ABOUT R300 PM. MY CONTRACT IS ABOUT TO EXPIRE IN MARCH - SO THIS TIME ROUND I THOUGHT LET ME USE THE 44 GB I HAVE PAID FOR BEFORE THE CONTRACT FINISHES - SO I DOWNLOADED 3 SEASONS OF MY FAVOURITE SHOWS -USING BIT TORRENT. WHILST IN THE MTN CLAREMONT WALK IN SHOP ON CELL PHONE BUSINESS I ASKED ABOUT MY BALANCE OF DATA AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL 808 - TO MY HORROR - I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD NO DATA AND OWED NEAR TO R 7000. NO ONE HAD EVER TOLD ME THAT THE DATA I PAID FOR EVERY MONTH WOULD BE TAKEN AWAY BEFORE THE CONTRACT EXPIRED - I AM SURE THAT I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON TO BE CONNED OUT OF SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE PAID FOR - IS THAT LEGAL? I AM IN THE ADVERTISING INDUSTRY AND WILL MAKE SURE THAT NONE OF THE INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS THAT COME TO CT TO FILM IN SUMMER -WILL USE MTN AS A SERVICE - THEY WILL NOT BE CONNED TOO!
