About 11 months ago Mweb changed their price on 1mb incl line from R488 to R339 per month, at about the same time Telkom upgraded lines without knowledge or permission from myself, the client to 2mbs.

Mweb contacted me and asked if I would like to upgrade to the 2mb account or stay on the same account, since I have no need for a 2mb and my 1mb package was sufficient for me I said no.

What mweb failed to mention is that they would charge me R149 extra per month (R488 as opposed to R339) for a service which I did not ask for (the extra speed of the 2mb line) and which is unavailable to me because my data account is only 1mb.

So 11 months multiplied by R149 = R1639 - that is the grand total that Mweb has effectively from me in the past months without batting an eye and of course they will not grant me a refund.

Anyone using Mweb's 1mb incl line please check your bank statements, they may be from you as well. It seems Mweb is not being satisfied with being the highest priced, worst service provider in the country, they need to take extra as well.
