Phn under warrenty but technician wants me to pay

I have a blackberry 9320 for 13mnths, the scroller was giving me problems so i handed the phn in for repairs at Vodacom knowing that the phn was under warrenty for 2years after being explained in 2012 by a consultant, the response from Vodacom technician was that he can resplace scroller but have to replace casing too, and that it will cost me R600 seeing that the buttons of the volume on the casing was damage. To me i could not understand why i have to pay this money becuase the phn is still under warrenty. if vodacom can show me an aggreement which tells me that if the casing is damage then automatically you will loose your warrenty, i would understand. I regard the casing as poor design and poor material being used. Please advise what i need to do because i am not paying for something that is still under warrenty.
