I have a pre-paid MTN micro sim card installed in my IPad 2 which only allows data access. Please note I do not have an IPhone and hence could not put the micro sim into a phone.
I haven't used my IPad in a couple of months and yesterday, 9 October 2013, decided to get it up and running again. I recall still having airtime on my micro sim when I last used it but when trying to connect merely got "No Service" displayed on IPad 2. So I assumed my airtime is up and via online banking loaded another 2GB onto my micro sim. The transaction went through and I tried to connect again but still "No Service". I then contacted MTN and reported the problem upon which the lady said they will refresh my sim and I should take the sim out and put it back into the IPad in 5 minutes. I did that, still "No Service". Today I phoned MTN again only to discover my sim has been recycled without me knowing and someone else now has that number. This leaves me upset and I would atleast like a refund or airtime credit for the airtime I purchased (on a new micro sim to be issued). This is a loop-hole regarding MTN procedures and IPads with no way of informing the user before recycling him! Please help.
