Signed up for Afrihost Mobile on the 18th September and was charged a pro-rata fee for the data assigned to me. They claim you'll be connected in 2 minutes - still waiting. I have now spent almost R200 on cell calls to the "help" desk only to be told one rubbish story after another.
The SIM card is still not working despite being "provisioned" and now I have been told to start at the beginning again to check the settings on my phone. (Despite the fact that it hasn't worked in two different Blackberrys, a Nokia and 2 different USB modems, I have been told that the SIM is showing as connected on their side.)
Something smells rotten here - They no doubt know that you'll never get to use the mobile data so that's why they can offer it so inexpensively.
Am not putting this here in any hope of a solution being found - am putting this here to warm other potential victims. (Thank goodness I didn't spring for the mobile router as well.)
