Terrible Service

I have a Sony Xperia Z phone which Sony advertises as a water resistant phone.
The ads on TV show it being rinsed under running water as well as photos on twitter show pictures being taken under water.
My phone was quite messed with my 2 year old's sticky fingers. So I placed it under a running tap for under a minute to rinse the stickiness. All the ports were closed.
It was fine for a few minutes hereafter but then the screen went off and did not respond to anything.
We called the phone, it rang, but could not answer as the touch screen did not respond.
I called Sony the next day and they said that I need to take this up with my service provider, the ever so poor Vodacom.
I spoke to Bonnie, 'a manager' at the repair centre who suggested I bring the phone in. I took the phone in and she said that she will keep me updated. Few days later my phone was delivered to the store unrepaired because the warranty does not cover liquid damage.
Whenever I call Bonnie she is not available.
Vodacom now needs to take this up with Sony to replace/repair my handset as they are my service provider, but now refuse to provide this service.
I would sincerely appreciate a call from a senior manager.
