Vodacom not helping me locate my phone

The phone was collected by RAM on 22 Aug and I received confirmation in Sep that the contract has now been cancelled, thanks. However, there is a new twist: the phone was somewhere in the process between RAM and Vodacom. I got a rude call from Vodacom (? spares?) department who said "We don't accept empty boxes. You need to buy a phone and send it to us. If you have a problem take it up with RAM". I don't know whereto from here? RAM says the weighbill I signed was weighed when it arrived at RAM and was /- 200g heavier than the packet that returned to me by Vodacom! What must I do now, Vodacom has passed the buck to RAM who has polygraphed their staff that came up clean, what must I do now? Go to the police?
Also, I faxed blacklisting form to Vodacom on 10 Sep, have had no response. Called today, and call centre says it has been blacklisted. I ask for a reference number and then I was put on hold and transferred a couple times, the call centre agent didn't seem like she could find the right person to give me a confirmation that the phone has been blacklisted. And then I get cut off the call and still I don't have proof that Vodacom blacklisted the phone.
