On 4 Aug line becomes unusable without any warning apparently due to an upgrade of the exchange in Table View to fibre optics(Subsequently discovered). Fault logged via sms at the time as recommended by Telkom. Telkom Bayside totally uninterested in my problem only deal with new accounts and payments. After 5 weeks I resolve the problem myself by walking into the exchange building and speaking toa technician who discovered that a single wire had not been connected during the upgrade. 5 mins later problem resolved by connecting the wire. When account arrives despite call centre seeing that no calls were made from 4 Aug to 11 Sep are unwilling to adjust monthly rental and are unaware of a fault being logged via SMS (so this also does not work). They insist that before any refund is made I need to lodge a dispute.
Great service Telkom keep up the good work and then wonder why people are scrapping their landlines!!
