I switched from Afrihost to MWEB as i experienced some slow access speeds. This was done at the end of Aug 2013. Within the first few days of connecting to MWEB i realized what a big mistake this was. I signed up for a 4MBPS and am getting 0.3-1.2MBPS. Its excruciating. I cannot connect my wireless devices and there is a huge lag from accessing webpages till they refresh.By 4 Sep i had enough and sent through a cancellation request - i requested cancellation by 2 Sep - but have to fill in forms. Now i am told that it can only be cancelled end of Oct 2013 due to the billing cycle.
I think that this is very unfair and not in the spirit of the Consumer Act.By comparison - i had submitted a cancellation request to Afrihost on 25 Aug and it was confirmed immediately (all online - no forms) - and effected on 31 Aug. I will never sign up with MWEB again - besides the poor connection - the ridiculous cancellation clause.
I have spoken to the Tech Support on 3 occassions - rebooted my modem almost everyday. The Techs has audacity to say its the line and not their problem. But i pointed out that i had Afrihost connection with no issues. I want MWEB to cancel my contract ASAP.
