I have been a loyal customer to MTN for many many years and I have never missed a payment on my cell account. I recently migrated my MTN 100 top-up contract to an MTN Anytime 500 contract. The MTN 100 contract has now been running for 15 months and due to my needing a lot more airtime I had to migrate now and not at end of current contract which is only 20/10/2013. I have now basically doubled my monthly payment to MTN and I see they have migrated me onto a 24 month contract. My previous monthly cost was R227 and it's now increased to R500 p/m. In essence over a 24 month period they will have collected R12 000 from me on base cost alone. Why have I not been given a free handset for this deal? I cannot afford to wait for an upgraded handset in only 2 years time. Kindly revert as to how to resolve this satisfactorily.
