I have several cell phone contracts for business purposes with Nashua Mobile and I have spent about R130 000 over the last six years on their contracts. One of my cell phones was due for an upgrade about two months ago and I wanted to upgrade to the Nokia Lumia 925 but it was not available. They offered me the Lumia 920 which I did not want. In the meantime the Lumia 925 has become available at other suppliers and I wanted to move [port] my cell phone number to MTN but Nashua Mobile insisted on a notice period of one month for a contract which has already expired. As a lawyer I am not going to take this lying down and they are in for a fight. But apart from any legal battles consumers should take note of this attitude of putting themselves first. They want to get rid of their Lumia 920 stock first and because I am not prepared to do this business with them they are trying to hold me hostage. I can promise them that they will loose all my business eventually because I will cancel all my contracts as and when they expire.
